This is another recipe I tried from Catherine's blog Bunny Food For My Rabbit Teeth in preparation for the food competition party I attended last Saturday (I'll tell you what I made, and who won, shortly).

It is sooooo yummy! It's only flaw is that it's TOO good. It just tastes like delicious chocolate decadence and you can use it as ANYTHING (frosting, pudding, dip, spread, filling, etc)

So while my guinea pigs (i.e. officemates) very much enjoyed it, it didn't stand out as THE dish to bring to a competition.

But if you're in the mood for chocolate, this is for you.

(makes 4 servings)
Original recipe here.

Again, here's the page out of my in-progress recipe book...
1 large avocado
1/2 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
1 cup medjool dates (pitted)
4 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract

Remove pits from dates.
Combine everything in a food processor (or high powered blender) until smooth.
Refrigerate 1 hour and serve!

Bon appetite!

Raw Bites

Tonight, Boyfriend-Fellow and I are going to a food contest party...
Just like it sounds, everyone brings a dish and we all vote on the best one.
Coincidentally, I just recently found Rabbit Food For My Bunny Teeth, a fantastic blog chock-full of excellent advice on health and nutritious AND to-die-for-delish recipes.

Seriously, this girl's blog is amazing, check it out!

ALL of her recipes look so good I couldn't decide which one to make!

So, I've been making one a day and having my coworkers try them.

Here's one of the runner ups....
Raw Bites
Original recipe here.
I didn't have any cashews at the time so I had to
alter the recipe a little bit (I just used walnuts and almonds).

I'm currently making a recipe-book, so here's the actual page from my book.

They were so, so good but got slightly fewer votes overall
than the dish I made for tonight (which I'll post soon!)

Puppamoth's Sleepover

Ever since I gave Puppamoth to Boyfriend-Fellow,
he rewards me with cute photos of what Puppamoth is up to...

Like being tickled...

Getting clean!

Riding in the car....

Yesterday, I babysat Puppamoth so it was MY turn
to send Boyfriend-Fellow picture updates.

Puppamoth made a friend in the morning...

Then we had a meeting at a house with a gorgeous view...
In the afternoon, we picked up
a surprise for Boyfriend-Fellow
(he's been wanting a carafe for awhile)

In the evening, he made a card for Boyfriend-Fellow

Then he had some warm milk before bed

He was still excited so he read for awhile

And finally he got tucked in.

This morning he got some snuggles...

And then some breakfast.

Awkward / Awesome Volume 58

Awkward/Awesome Thursday timmmeeee
(with only 42 minutes left of Thursday)
Awesome: Boyfriend-Fellow and I went to a restaurant our friend recommended and because it was open-air, while we were waiting, we could see people enjoying the most delicious-looking (and smelling) dishes.
Awkward: Trying to be funny, I made a sarcastic remark about how it was 'Too bad none of the food looked very good.'  I said it too loud.  They didn't know I was being sarcastic.

Awesome: My friend invited me to a drop-in dance class.
Awkward: It got cancelled last minute.
Awesome: We got free passes for next week and we went on an amazing 3 hour walk instead.

Awkward: Paying for my coffee in nickels and dimes (please be payday already!).

Awkward: Asking my waitress for her recommendation and choosing something else.

Awesome: My friend took me to a great little vegetarian friendly Mexican restaurant.
Awkard: The very next evening, boyfriend-Fellow and I were in the same area and nothing looked better so I ate there again.
Awkward x 2: I had the same waiter. He recognized me.

Awkward: Either my wallet dropped out of my purse or it was stolen (again).
Awesome: Someone found my wallet and turned it in.
Awkward: It had all the cash stolen out of it.
Awesome: But at least I had my credit cards and ID!
Awkward: I had to cancel all my credit cards anyways since it'd be gone long enough for someone to copy down my card info.

Awkward: In my dance class, the teacher brought in a BOY for us to dance up to.
Awkward x 2: He's the same boy who swipes our gym cards so we WILL see him every week.

Awesome: I gave a 30 minute lecture today! (that's why this post is so late... it was a stressful Thursday)
Awesome x 2: I used photos of Gus to illustrate my points. It went great.

Leave your awkwards/awesomes in the comments below. I love reading them!

Summer 2012 - Faraway Land - Day 2

***NOTE: Ooops, I posted these out of order.
I already posted Day 1 and Day 3 ***

Boyfriend-Fellow and I started Day 2 in
Faraway Land with an early morning hike!

Then we went to the lake...

There was a lot of swimming...
Doesn't she look like a teenager?!

 Someone (Gus) was jealous/protective...
So he joined!
...Learning how to skip rocks

...(taught expertly by Boyfriend-Fellow)...

...and trying to get a certain puppy more water-comfy.
Trying to lure him

Bringing him in deeper

We stopped at a few local sites on the way home,
collected some rocks and got pizza in town.

So, again, another wonderful day camping!

Summer 2012 - Faraway Land - Day 3

Day 3 in Faraway Land.
Gosh I love waking up in a tent (when it's not too hot!)
First thing in the morning, Boyfriend-Fellow and I
whisked the girlies away for some GUB-playing and breakfast in town.
Madre took the girlies back to camp while Boyfriend-Fellow
and I picked fruit from a neighbor's tree (with their permission of course).

When we got back to the property, we spent a good amount of time lounging and reading.

Then some excitement happened!
My aunt and uncle, who were also camping with us (along with their brood),
bought a puppy!
Hiding behind Boyfriend-Fellow's legs.

Meeting Gus.

In addition to the pictures of the cute puppy,
I snuck some pictures of my cute sissies and boyfriend....

In the late afternoon, Boyfriend-Fellow,
Madre and I went over to a neighbor's house
(my favorite people in Faraway Land) for a visit.

Then Boyfriend-Fellow and I went into town for a small dinner.
We were the only two guests on the back patio.

The evening was spent thinking of puns using Gus's name.  Much laughter.

There were supposedly going to be northern lights but we all fell asleep before then.

And that was our trip! We went home the next day.
I'd say it was the perfect mix of excitement, less-technology, lounging around...

Oh, and these were from Day 2 but I forgot to post them....

Monday Outfit

Today I feel very summer-y in my dress + shorts.
I love the back of this dress!

And I made french toast for the first time today.

Happy Monday!
